Christmas Pudding - Tesco Finest

6-Month Matured Clementine Centre Christmas Pudding with Courvoisier [reg] VS Cognac

Tried 29th December 2013

It was always going to be hard to appreciate a shop bought pudding as we have always made our own and know what we like.

To be honest this pudding did not live up to the promise. It was stodgy though not particularly distasteful but was not the highlight of the table.

The smooth, shiny texture of the surface did nothing to whet the appetite. The whole nuts were not popular and the general consensus of opinion about the mandarin was not good. I could taste the brandy.

I ate it with Tesco fresh custard and would have been happier just to have had the custard.

If you don't like making your own puddings then it might be OK for those not used to the "real thing" but we found it a waste of calories and threw the second half away. No, I thought we had but instead it was put to one side and used as a base for an acceptable dessert by adding various fresh fruits.

Disclosure: I am a member of the Tesco Orchard for which they send me discount vouchers which partly paid for this product. Tesco request that our reviews are our honest opinion.
