Blue Belle Potatoes

Purple markings on the Blue Belle potato

These were a pleasant surprise. We hadn't expected to notice any difference but they were markedly different. They baked and roasted well and had a creamier taste. No butter was needed on the baked potatoes.

The purple colour makes no difference to the cooked potato. There were a few more small "black bits" to cut out than might have been expected but maybe this is a sign of a more natural product.

The packaging suggests that most of these are grown in the UK which is a plus point too.

It is a pity that they are only available in 1.5Kg packs as we would not normally need that many potatoes for just the two of us. However, despite being "Finest" they worked out less expensive / Kg than the normal baking potato that we would have bought.

We will give the other types of Finest Potato a try when our local Tesco gets them in stock

I am not an aficionado when it comes to Stollen, but I know when I enjoy a good piece.
